One day in the Life of an Avian Pest Controller

Was a busy first half of the week with a couple more jobs come onto the books but not in London a bit closer to home, in Peterborough.
Early starts are nothing new at Backwoods Falconry so at about 11:30pm on Monday 27th March we left HQ in Cambridgeshire with 2 Harris Hawks Morgan and Reno destination London SE1 to start with.

Ok what had we been up to for the rest of Monday? Well making new Muze and flying Jesses for some of the Falcons and Hawks plus adding new bells. All the Birds had been enjoying the sun outside as well as you can see from this short video.

Back to Monday night or should I say Tuesday morning as we arrived in SE 1 around 1am for a Lamp and Lazar job to chase of some pigeons. Next stop Sevenoaks another Lamp and Lazar. From Sevenoaks back in on the A2 through the Blackwall Tunnel up to Finsbury park. Arrived at Finsbury just before sun up after a stop off for a cuppa.
Well Finsbury done it was time to go to Hendon,Beaufort Park and time to put Morgan and Reno into action although Reno had other ideas like find a perch and watch Morgan do all the work. One thing I have noticed about Harris Hawks while being out with Gary is the are caricatures in there own individual ways despite being a pack bird in the wild.
4 hours at Hendon,Morgan doing most of the work and Gary and I having one very nice breakfast at Coffee Affair later it was time to go to John Lewis's at Welwyn Garden City, and from there up to Bletchley for the final job of the day before heading back to our HQ in Cambridgeshire.
